  • Old projector, new tricks!

As the saying goes, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Fortunately, that’s not true for old projectors. Last night, we hooked up a projector that’s far from new but still pretty awesome! We hooked it up to a laptop and a neat piece of open source software called, MusicBeam. This is not your ordinary visualization software although if you have been to some of our larger events, you know how much we love visualizations! This software uses shapes and color that by themselves are completely boring (as shown in the laptop images below), but projecting those shapes and colors with a projector and haze is stunning! I’ll even go as far as to say that it rivals some very expensive and high end lights that you’d find at your favorite DJ and lighting retail outlet. The video doesn’t quite do the effect justice as it seems to lose some of the depth that you can see while standing in the room. Even so, it’s still totally awesome and we are excited to use this effect in the near future!

  • A new website is born!

It is with great enthusiasm that we can finally announce some very exciting news…As the title suggests, we have a new website! It’s bigger, smarter, richer in content, and it allows us to create new content easily. In other words, we can blog!  That means all music and industry related topics are fair game. We’ll talk a bit about music, news, technology, playlists, and do some live blogging from some of our most exciting events! Our website has had several makeovers over the years (decade), but none of them have been as significant as this. In fact, we also have a mobile version of the site that looks completely different on mobile devices, but still delivers the same content in a user-friendly way. Just like our performances, everything we do including web design is client-focused! So, after 11 years, we remain committed to our clients more than ever and without further ado, here it is…Enjoy!

  • Congratulations to Stefanie and Vincent!

Congratulations to Stefanie and Vincent on your beautiful wedding! You two managed to pull off one of the most unique weddings we have ever been a part of. From the James Bond introductions with car screeching sound effects to the rockin’ dance floor, this was quite a show! Your guests requesting demanding an encore song at the end of the night was priceless!

The Veranda is as beautiful as ever and the catering was top notch!

  • Featured on PRO Mobile DJ

Featured on PRO Mobile DJ – By Stacy Semon:

In 2002, Matt Rothlein, Justin Martin, and Mark Bearss (who were then recreational DJs), paired up to combine their ideas, equipment and creativity to give birth to Orlando, Florida-based, PRO Event DJ. They believed that as a new company in a well-established marketplace, PRO Event DJ needed to be different from their local competitors, and that image would be critically important. The guys were confident in their raw talent, but they also knew that to rise above the rest, they would have to be both polished and cutting-edge in their business approach.

During their first years in business, the trio focused on developing a standard methodology to deliver exceptional service while relentlessly working to master the art of DJing. They were able to book diversified events ranging from small school parties and birthday celebrations, to large weddings and corporate events. As the business model matured, so did their scalability. As a result, they have proven to be a force to be reckoned with in their marketplace.

The company has twice been invited to entertain thousands of students during the National HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Leadership conference held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. PRO Event DJ also provided DJ and MC services for a Kentucky Derby event – complete with announcing the winners of the race! One of the ways they differentiate themselves is by providing personalized remixes from songs chosen by the bride and groom for wedding receptions.

In 2011, the company also launched the “Play it Forward” campaign by pairing up with the American Childhood Cancer Organization and the Florida Hospital for Children to provide no-cost entertainment services. I asked Matt what the thought was behind coming up with the company’s charitable campaign: Having the chance to make a difference in the lives of children has been the most rewarding experience throughout our company’s history. Quite honestly, they have also been some of our favorite events!”

It appears that no event is too big, too small, or too different for PRO Event DJ. Personally, I have never been the MC or DJ at a wedding where there was a knighting ceremony for the groom, but these talented young entrepreneurs have!

Base Camp, American Childhood Cancer Organization,Orlando World Center Marriott, Pi Beta Phi Sorority from UCF, photographers, videographers, and many hairdressers, nail professionals and make up artists volunteered on the production of this event that touched everyone’s heart, Little’s & Middle’s Prom.

It is hard to put life on the same perspective after watching this heroes fight their way through life, with such courage. On each kid’s eyes you see the shine of hope, and the certainty that everything will be fine. And we all wish for one simple miracle. Talking to my heart and to God every step of the way, we silently prayed for strength, so the emotions wouldn’t take over.

The event was planned in every detail, make up, hair, nails, dresses, photos and D.J (PRO Event DJ). The Marriott provided the hotel stay, catering, ballroom, decorations and food. The kids had a great night, a Prom like no other.

Base Camp, provided baskets with lots of snacks to all the families. All the kids were so excited. Boys got elegant tuxedos, girls brand new dresses, corsage and a makeover, a limousine came to the hotel so they could experience riding in one, and it was just priceless. A day to remember forever, kids faces that will forever be in our hearts, and the incredible work done that deserves a standing ovation. To Pi Beta Phi our thanks to invite us to participate in this great event, and congratulations for your accomplishment.
